Today MY SON turns ONE

Today I awoke and just had to go look in on my son who turns one today. We have found out that we are going to be able to adopt him and he is legally going to be our son! My husband and I cannot be any happier than we are today knowing that we will be able to experence every one of his birthdays with him as long as God allows us to. This past month has been such a major roller coaster for us. We are foster parents and our son has been with us since he was only two days old...straight from the hospital to OUR house! When he was placed in my arms a whole lot of prayers were answered! We've tried for five years to have children of our own and we decided we would try to adopt. At one of the adoption seminars we attended, we heard about foster care and that you can adopt children that you foster when they become available for adoption. We decided that this would probably be the best way (and cheapest way) to go since we were ready to start our family! We went through several months of training to become foster parents. Once we graduated and were licensed we had the opportunity to foster two little girls who stayed with us for one week. Then we fostered two little boys for one day. Fifteen days after we were licensed our son was placed in our arms. He was so little, weighing only 5 pounds, 6 ounces and not much bigger than a little baby doll. Now he is over 20 pounds and is ready to take off walking any day now. He loves to change our daughter (we adopted her about 2 1/2 months ago...she is 18 months old now) around the house. We are going to have a birthday party for him this weekend when most family members can attend. I know that we are the only Mommy and Daddy our son will ever know and remember but he will also know that he was our miracle...God sent him to us...he was an answer to many, many years of prayers! I just pray that God will continue to bless him and his future with many things to help him grow up to become a handsome Christian gentlemen! We will love you always and thank God daily for blessing our lives by giving us you! Happy first birthday, son! Love, Mommy

Starting something new

Today I decided to start something new...a blog...I've seen them...and thought maybe I'd like to do that...so I decided to start. I pray that God will bless my efforts in this and that this will give me peace of mind when I have things to say or write down.
